It is with great sadness that I announce the permanent retirement of an old friend, my 2004 GT iDrive 1.0. Cobbled together with parts from the original 1999 frame and subsequent 9 speed drive train, mechanical brakes, disc specific rims, Fox fork (won at a NEMBA event) and Manitou Radium rear shock, I really enjoyed riding it, until that day when I just couldn’t support her anymore (her name was Betty). Her parts were old and hard to replace and she just didn’t have the spring in her step she used to have. So I mounted her on the rack, stripped her bare, and committed the remains to the trash bucket. Goodbye, girl.
